A Look back at our Employee of the Month From April

For the month of April, we have chosen to shed a light on our Clean Team/ Facilities Manager, Mike M.

Mike started at the Allentown Rescue Mission in 2009. He says that he works for the Allentown Rescue Mission because he has the ability to make differences in the lives of those who need a hand-out not a hand-out. Mike says that the most rewarding part of his job is seeing lives being changed. “The Clean Team is run by men from the Transformation Program. It is a program for the men, by the men,” says Mike. “Seeing others give back to the men who are in the same position they once were is a blessing.”

Mike helps the rescue, rehabilitate and restore the men at the Allentown Rescue Mission by teaching them workforce skills and development, providing them with transitional employment through The Clean Team, and providing them with other opportunities for the men to work and save money until they find permanent employment in the community.

Mike’s advice for you is to support your local agency. “If you see a homeless man, stop and offer guidance for that person to the nearest shelter. Not everyone wants to change their circumstances- but those who do need to be aware of their resources.”

Thank you Mike for all of your continued hard work in Changing Lives! To learn more about what we do, visit www.allentownrescuemission.org.
