TRANSFORMATION
PROGRAM

The Transformation Program is a residential program available to the guests of the Allentown Rescue Mission. It helps men heal through individual assessments and one-on-one counseling. Through faith-based and life-skills classes, the program redirects the trajectory of men’s lives.

In the program, the men have access to Bible studies, counseling, case management, mental health treatment through our agency partners, and medical treatment through our DeSales Free Medical Clinic.  The program strives to make each man more employable and workforce ready through a series of skill-building classes, such as job readiness and computer skills, personal finance, resume building, and anger management.  After completing the Transformation Program, our graduates are eligible for paid, supervised jobs on our Clean Team while continuing their biblical studies and connecting with a local church.

Transformation Program participants are mentored through a gradual process back into the community, to aid in the restoration of family relationships, and to build a strong relationship with a local church to help prevent relapse and to become a productive member of the community.

Admission Procedure

The Transformation Program requires a commitment to change.  All men enrolled have been screened through our Emergency Shelter.

Transformation Program Graduation

Men who complete the requirements of the Allentown Rescue Mission’s 8-Week Transformation Program are honored during a monthly Graduation Ceremony and celebration held in the Mission’s Chapel. 

Transformation Program Graduation Ceremonies include a time of praise and worship through music, an inspirational and encouraging message from a past graduate of the program and/or local pastor, an opportunity for the men who graduate to give a testimony on how they have been impacted by the Transformation Program, and prayers for the graduates offered by Allentown Rescue Mission staff.

After the Graduation Ceremony, graduates and attendees are invited to a themed celebratory reception, which offers refreshments and fellowship, in the Mission’s Dining Hall.
