EMERGENCY SHELTER

A Safe Place

The Allentown Rescue Mission provides safe housing, nutritionally balanced meals, clothing, hot showers, and access to medical care. Additionally, we connect the men in our care to a wide variety of local social service and support organizations for men 18 years old and older. How to access our Emergency Shelter:

  1. Come to the Emergency Shelter at 356 Court St, Allentown, PA 18101, during intake hours, starting at 4:30 pm with a photo ID. The Emergency Shelter is closed from 8 am to 4:30 pm. On the weekends and during inclement weather, the Emergency Shelter is open all day.

  2. Call us at (610) 740-5500 ext 313 at any time, and we will give you instructions on how to access our facility and to learn more about the services we provide.

We offer our services to all men over 18 regardless of race, color, creed, political affiliation, religious affiliation, or sexual orientation.

If you’re under the age of 18, a woman, or have dependent children, we recommend you call 211 from any phone to find shelter and other services. 211 is the United Way’s direct phone line for “coordinated care” in the Lehigh Valley region.  They have expertise and access to a wide range of housing options.  If you are a man over the age of 18, without dependent children living with you, they will very likely direct you back to us.  But if you are in any other demographic or special needs group, they have numerous options available for you. Call 211. For more information reach out to our front desk (610) 740-5500 ext 310

They're a godsend. What they do is incredible.
