Donation Drive is a Bullseye

(ALLENTOWN, PA) –Riley Knecht, in partnership with the Izaak Walton Rod and Gun Club, hosted a benefit archery shoot on September 5, 2020.  The event was an overwhelming success, raising $2,025.00 for the Allentown Rescue Mission.

Riley, a freshman at Salisbury High School and reigning Miss Mid Atlantic Jr. Teen, was first introduced to the sport of archery at age six by her father. Even as a child, Riley loved the skill and focus the sport demanded. So when she contemplated a way to give back to her community, archery felt like a natural choice.

Forty-eight shooters participated in the benefit, and many others gathered to watch and enjoy the refreshments and basket raffles.  “It was a great day, the weather was beautiful, and the turn-out to support the Allentown Rescue Mission was awesome,” says Riley’s dad, Adam. The Izaak Rod and Gun Club extended the hours of the shoot to avoid overcrowding and to maintain proper social distancing. Riley hopes that the archery shoot will become an annual event.

The Allentown Rescue Mission would like to express our gratitude to Riley, the Izaak Walton Rod and Gun Club, and everyone who took part in this benefit to support homeless men in our community. We could not rescue, rehabilitate, and restore our men without you.
