Transformation Program Graduate – Henry G.

Henry G. had living and employment stability until mental health began to affect his life. He was unable to focus on work and ultimately quit and moved in with sister. Eventually, his sister had to move out of her apartment, so Henry had nowhere to stay and turned to the Allentown Rescue Mission.

Henry enjoyed “street preaching” before he came to the Mission, so it was a natural fit for him to join the Transformation Program where he could learn more about God as well as learn life skills. Henry thrived in the classes and would offer personal life experiences to help others gain a better understanding of the principles being taught. Approximately four weeks into the eight-week Transformation Program, he learned that he was approved for disability benefits, which he saw as a “blessing from God.”

Another blessing for Henry is that after graduating from the program, he is going to be reunited with his family. Henry would like to continue to “street preach” and would consider taking it one step further to become a teacher in a church. He is trusting in God for the timing of his plans.
