Transformation Program Graduate – Glen N.

Glen N. lived an ordinary life, working and maintaining a place to live, until he suffered a stroke and heart failure. This unexpected life change threw Glen into a tailspin. He began drinking heavily, was overcome with anxiety and depression, and eventually had a nervous breakdown. “I felt like God hated me because of all the things that were happening to me,” Glen acknowledged.

After being released from the hospital, Glen came to the Allentown Rescue Mission. He joined the Transformation Program and “everything changed for the better.” Glen said, “What put my mind at ease is that God loves me no matter what.” Glen believes he was addicted to anger and blamed everyone else for his problem, but he is learning to take responsibility for his actions. He didn’t have confidence in anything he said but now he can say what is on his mind.

Currently, Glen is working on the Clean Team Workforce and is looking to stabilize his finances, health, and spirituality. He has a good relationship with his sister and looks forward to when they can spend more time together.
