Cody T. had a difficult childhood. His father passed away before he was born, and his mother was incarcerated for most of his youth. He grew up in foster care where he endured abuse and always felt second best.
As a teenager, he was angry and started fights, which landed Cody in jail at the age of 15. When he was released at 17, he returned to his mother, who he barely knew. Eventually, Cody started using drugs. He said, “I was very angry and confused.” Not long after, he was kicked out of his mother’s home, and he checked into a Mental Facility.
Upon release, Cody maintains God came to him in a dream and let him know there was more for him in life. He was referred to the Allentown Rescue Mission and his new journey began. When Cody entered the Transformation Program, he immediately focused on understanding and working on his faith. He found peace and answers in studying the Bible. Cody also worked on his childhood trauma. “I don’t feel alone like I did most of my life,” he said.
Cody immediately found a job after graduating from the Transformation Program and is already lined up for a promotion. He is upbeat and spreads his positivity every day.
Eventually, Cody would like to move to Georgia and build a life there.
