July Clean Team Worker Spotlight

The Clean Team would like to congratulate Tim M., their July Worker of the Month.

Tim had a troubled past. Alcohol use disorder ultimately led him to homelessness, as is the case with many of the men who come to the Allentown Rescue Mission looking for help.  Tim came here, wanting to change the aspects of his life, which led him to homelessness and despair. He found that with Christ’s help, he can maintain the positive changes he has made.

While in the Program, Tim showed excellent class participation. He enjoyed going to church and continues to attend Calvary Chapel regularly. Tim has been a believer in Christ for as long as Tim can remember. He says that his relationship with Jesus Christ has strengthened, and this has led to a greater fellowship with others.

During the coronavirus pandemic, Tim has been volunteering quite a bit of his time assisting staff and other guests with food distribution and donation acceptance. He is one of the guys who immediately helps when an announcement is made for assistance with donations.

Tim demonstrates all 10 Workplace Values on a daily basis. The two that are most readily apparent are: he is always on time, and he is still ready to work. Tim is one of our Clean Team drivers, and he always gets the guys to their jobs on time.  He is prepared and ready to go every day. He has never missed a day of work, and he has never been late.

Tim will be leaving the Allentown Rescue Mission soon, and although he feels the anxiety of moving forward, he knows that he will have a place on the Clean Team while he searches for a career in truck driving.  We’re going to do everything we can to help him reach his goals.  Thanks, Tim!
