Clean Team Workforce Employee of the Month for August – Mike H.

The Allentown Rescue Mission is pleased to announce its Clean Team Workforce Employee of the Month for August, Mike H.

Mike checked into the Allentown Rescue Mission’s Emergency Shelter in early 2022 after being hospitalized for several months due to a chronic medical condition. Before his hospitalization, Mike was a hard worker. He owned a landscaping business and did graphic design work.

Unfortunately, Mike’s medical condition hindered his ability to work, depleted his savings, and forced him out of his home. Mike didn’t know what to do. Luckily, a police officer graciously told Mike about the Allentown Rescue Mission when he was discharged from the hospital.

Upon arriving at the Emergency Shelter, Mike learned about the 8-week life skills program offered at the Mission that could transform his life and restore him to the community. He immediately decided to join. Here, Mike discovered a lot about himself and learned how to lead a Christian life. He renewed his faith in The Lord and a desire to study the Bible and Theology.

After graduating from the Transformation Program, Mike became a Clean Team Workforce employee. And even though he is still working on stabilizing his health, Mike is always eager to help and gives one hundred percent every day. Additionally, Mike has taken the lead on work assignments and ensures the Clean Team Workforce tools are operational and accounted for.

Recently, a private customer employed the Clean Team Workforce to landscape her residence. After witnessing Mike’s dedication and skill, the customer hand-selected Mike for another job at her business in Allentown. Congratulations, Mike, on your outstanding work, and best wishes for continued health improvements.
