Clean Team Worker of the Month – Matt

The Allentown Rescue Mission proudly announces their Clean Team Worker of the Month for November, Matt.

After being discharged from the Marine Corps Reserve, Matt struggled to find a purpose in his life. He knew he needed help and reached out to the Allentown Rescue Mission.

He joined the Allentown Rescue Mission’s Transformation Program, took his classes seriously, and excelled in the program. He even shared his faith with the other men in the program to help them when they were struggling. In January, he graduated from the program, and in June he began working with the Clean Team.

Matt has many different assignments such as street cleaning, landscaping, demolition, and property clean-ups. He’s very flexible and able to work different jobs from day to day.  Matt’s always there to fill in if there’s a job that needs to get done.

Matt has been working hard, saving money, and is currently looking for a job that related to his college degree in film and video studies.  He has been working on his resume with the help of staff members at the Allentown Rescue Mission, and although it has been difficult for him to explore career opportunities during the pandemic, he is still optimistic about getting a job offer soon.

Matt is a Christian and attends Life Church. He enjoys reading the Bible and other spiritual books, he likes discussing his beliefs with others, and he enjoys writing about his positive life experiences in his journal.

Good luck, Matt, and thank you for being a worker the Clean Team can rely on.
