Clean Team Worker of the Month, Donald

The Allentown Rescue Mission congratulates its Clean Team Worker of the Month for December, Donald.

Donald’s journey with the Allentown Rescue Mission began in 2011 when he lost his job of ten years. He and his twin brother had been living together since high school. But without his job, they were unable to make ends meet. After exhausting their savings, they came to live at the Allentown Rescue Mission.

Both Donald and his brother entered the Allentown Rescue Mission’s Transformation Program. After graduation, they worked on the Clean Team and moved into apartment housing. Eventually, they were able to secure permanent jobs in the private sector.

Unfortunately, at the end of 2019, Donald fell on hard times again and was in need of a job. The Clean Team heard about Donald’s situation and offered him a job based on his previous graduation from the Transformation Program and high caliber work on the Clean Team. He accepted the offer and has been working on the Clean Team since.

Donald started street cleaning for the City of Allentown but is currently working at the Bethlehem Landfill. The two top ten workplace values that Donald demonstrates daily are being prompt and ready to work. The quality of his work has earned him good performance reviews from his supervisor at the Bethlehem Landfill.

The Allentown Rescue Mission is happy to offer Donald a second chance on the Clean Team. It understands that the twists and turns of life are sometimes beyond our control. Donald is grateful and making the most of this opportunity, working hard and saving money for the future. Good luck, Donald. The Allentown Rescue Mission is rooting for you.
