This is Lee, he recently graduated from our Transformation Program. Lee had a tough childhood growing up in New York. He suffered from physical and verbal abuse so, as soon as he could, he moved in with his sister and her boyfriend in hopes of a better life.
Unfortunately, they mimicked the same behaviors as the rest of his family. This left him unable to trust others. Eventually, Lee chose to live on the streets to escape his sister and felt that he couldn’t reach out to others for help.
Fortunately, a former guest of our shelter saw him, gave him some change, and recommended us to him. “He told me told me the Allentown Rescue Mission was great and that it could change my life.” Lee recalls.
Lee is proud of the hard work he’s put in to finishing the program and hopes to keep healing and moving forward. We’re proud of you Lee!
