Growing up, Shane lived with his grandparents, but at 13 his grandfather passed away and his grandmother kicked him out of the house. With nowhere else to turn, he looked to his friends for help which led him to a life of drugs. To begin putting his life back in order, he called 911 for help and was hospitalized for his mental state. When he was released from the hospital, he had nowhere else to go so he turned to the Allentown Rescue Mission. Shane says that through the Transformation Program, he has been saved and taught the skills he needs to get his life back on track. Shane says that his goal after graduation is to work hard on the Clean Team and look for a permanent job to save money.
