Jeff had a tough childhood and a long period of hardships; perhaps he was destined to suffer from homelessness. Jeff and his 5 brothers and 2 sisters were raised in the foster system, where he was shuffled from home to home. He struggled, but he worked hard, overcame his tumultuous childhood, and had his life on track. Unfortunately, that came crashing down.
Over the past 4 years, Jeff lost 3 family members. His breaking point came last September when another family member passed away. He couldn’t cope with the loss and eventually found himself wandering the street and occasionally staying at an abandoned home in Shenandoah, PA.
Jeff knew he needed to change but did not know-how. Luckily he met a police officer who told him about us, and he made the trek to our shelter. After hearing about the Transformation Program, he decided to join us and work hard to get back on track.
“The program helped me put my trust in the Lord and know that good things will come. I recommend the program to all of the men that come to the Allentown Rescue Mission.” Says Jeff. Know that Jeff has graduated, he wants to get a good job, his own place, and restart his life.
