We all go through a rebellious period, but for Alvin, his rebellion changed his life. Alvin had a happy childhood, but when he became a teenager he wanted more freedom and to do more “grown up” things. He began skipping school, drinking, smoking, and doing drugs. Eventually seeing the pain he was causing his parents, Alvin began working to change his life. This led to various shelters and program; various ups and downs. Eventually he came to the Allentown Rescue Mission and enrolled in our Transformation Program. In the program he learned patience, hope, and perseverance. He know wants to keep God in his life, get steady work, find his own place, and go back to school to get his GED.
