Leadership

We Believe...
...the Bible to be the inspired, infallible and ultimately authoritative Word of God.

...that there is one God, eternally existing as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

...in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ; that He was born of a virgin, that we are redeemed by His atoning death through the shedding of His blood, that He was resurrected bodily, that He ascended into heaven and that He will come again in power and great glory.

...that men are saved through a direct, personal encounter with the risen Lord. At that time they are regenerated by the Holy Spirit. This event we hold to be an experience rather than a doctrinal supposition.

...in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whom Christ indwells each believer and through whom he is able to live a godly life.

...the Holy Spirit unites all true believers in the Lord Jesus Christ and that together they form one body, the Church.

The Mission fulfills its goals through dynamic, results-oriented programs:
Gateway Center (Emergency Shelter)
Drug and Alcohol Program
Christian Living and Values Transitional Program
Housing

The Mission's programs have a goal of ending homelessness one person at a time; and in some cases, preventing homelessness. The Mission has been helping people make significant positive changes in their lives for over 100 years. The Mission has program entry points for clients at various levels.

Wheels of Time Street Rod Association

One of the many loyal supporters of the Allentown Rescue Mission is the Wheels of Time Street Rod Assoc. It all began 30 years ago when 12 young men started a car club specifically dedicated to the hobby of street rodding. In 1979, the decision was made to hold annual car shows. In its 30 year history it has grown to be the largest show on the east coast run completely by volunteers. The organization makes donations to local charities such as the Allentown Rescue Mission, Good Shepherd Home, ARC Association, Bethany Children's Home and others. They also sponsor a scholarship program for young men and women pursuing further education in the automotive field.
