Our Thanks To...

Our partnership with area churches and other ministries is vital to our work. The Mission deeply appreciates the support of the more than 367 Churches, Businesses/Corporations and Foundations listed here that provided financial, in kind, and volunteer support in 2007.

Thanks for Giving
Our thanks to everyone who helped with the 7th Annual Thanks for Giving Food and Supplies Drive. It was successful once again. The response was excellent. Our shelves were empty before the drive and full afterwards. We were assisted greatly by the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts from Troops 58, 71, and 150, as part of their Scouting for Food project. We received over 17,000 pounds of food and supplies.

We want to give special thanks to Bobby Gunther Walsh of WAEB, Mike Kelly of B104 and Bob Holder of WSAN who broadcasted live from the event locations. And most importantly to all of you who donated.

While this event was successful, we still have a shortage of laundry soap, paper towels, toilet tissue and personal care items, especially shaving cream and deodorant. For information on how you can donate these items call us at 610-740-5500, ext. 14.

Wheels of Time Street Rod Association

One of the many loyal supporters of the Allentown Rescue Mission is the Wheels of Time Street Rod Assoc. It all began 30 years ago when 12 young men started a car club specifically dedicated to the hobby of street rodding. In 1979, the decision was made to hold annual car shows. In its 30 year history it has grown to be the largest show on the east coast run completely by volunteers. The organization makes donations to local charities such as the Allentown Rescue Mission, Good Shepherd Home, ARC Association, Bethany Children's Home and others. They also sponsor a scholarship program for young men and women pursuing further education in the automotive field.
