Housing
The Allentown Rescue Mission is one of very few in the entire nation that has its own housing for graduates of its programs. By having our own housing, we can assure program graduates that they will be able to have a good start living on their own in the community.

This house in Allentown is part of the Mission's permanent housing solution in recovery from homelessness. |
The Mission's permanent housing is an important component of recovery from homelessness. Since 1998, 8 buildings have been donated to the Mission. The Mission operates 31 apartments available to its client graduates and used to help prevent disabled people and others in crisis from losing their housing ("bottoming out", becoming homeless.).
54% of residents are disadvantaged
18% are legally disabled
31% are successful graduates of Mission programs
Graduates of our programs who rent mission-operated apartments find this permanent housing helps ease transition when they leave the Mission and strive for self-sufficiency.

Wheels of Time Street Rod Association
One of the many loyal supporters of the Allentown Rescue Mission is the Wheels of Time Street Rod Assoc. It all began 30 years ago when 12 young men started a car club specifically dedicated to the hobby of street rodding. In 1979, the decision was made to hold annual car shows. In its 30 year history it has grown to be the largest show on the east coast run completely by volunteers. The organization makes donations to local charities such as the Allentown Rescue Mission, Good Shepherd Home, ARC Association, Bethany Children's Home and others. They also sponsor a scholarship program for young men and women pursuing further education in the automotive field.
