3rd ANNUAL GENUINE PA DUTCH DINNER

Dutch Dinner!

If you love authentic Pennsylvania Dutch cooking, this event is for you. The Allentown Rescue Mission will be hosting its 3rd annual Genuine PA Dutch Dinner on April 26, 2008. The menu will feature authentic dishes such as hog mow (filled pig stomach,) schnitz un knepp (apple dumplings,) pork, sauerkraut, salad, rolls and shoofly pie. Last year over 540 hungry folks enjoyed the food and we anticipate even more this year. The admission is FREE but an offering would be greatly appreciated.

Wheels of Time Street Rod Association

One of the many loyal supporters of the Allentown Rescue Mission is the Wheels of Time Street Rod Assoc. It all began 30 years ago when 12 young men started a car club specifically dedicated to the hobby of street rodding. In 1979, the decision was made to hold annual car shows. In its 30 year history it has grown to be the largest show on the east coast run completely by volunteers. The organization makes donations to local charities such as the Allentown Rescue Mission, Good Shepherd Home, ARC Association, Bethany Children's Home and others. They also sponsor a scholarship program for young men and women pursuing further education in the automotive field.
