Conducting a Successful Supply Drive:
A drive (collection) is a great way for churches, schools, businesses, clubs, and other groups to get involved by helping to meet real needs of others.
Get everyone involved! Publicize with fliers, bulletin boards, E-mail, and announcements at meetings. We truly appreciate your kindness, concern, and effort.
You can download the Supply Drive Flier to help PUBLICIZE your event.
Here are a few focused projects:
CLEANING SUPPLIES DRIVES
Emphasize items we can always use: bleach, Pine-Sol or Ly-Sol (pine-scented disinfectant cleaner), powder and liquid laundry soap and trash bags in 32 and 55 gallon sizes.
OFFICE SUPPLIES DRIVES
We always need white copy paper, legal and steno pads, post-it notes, postage stamps, and file folders. Gift certificates to office supply stores are useful, too.
FOOD DRIVES
* Concentrate on a few specific items so you can collect higher quantities of those items we use most. Since our cooks prepare meals for groups, larger sized cans and jars are more beneficial. Some suggestions include: large boxes of pasta products, 32-64 oz. jars of tomato sauce, canned hams, and boxes of Cheerios, Wheaties, and Corn Flakes.
* Gift certificates to Shop Rite, Giant, Wegmans, Aldi, and Redner's are also a great way to help with food. We can buy fresh food as needed.
CLOTHING DRIVES
New white T-shirts (M-XXL) and new white briefs (32-44) are always useful as new clients arrive at the Mission. Seasonal items like gloves and scarves in winter and short-sleeve shirts in summer are also helpful.

Wheels of Time Street Rod Association
One of the many loyal supporters of the Allentown Rescue Mission is the Wheels of Time Street Rod Assoc. It all began 30 years ago when 12 young men started a car club specifically dedicated to the hobby of street rodding. In 1979, the decision was made to hold annual car shows. In its 30 year history it has grown to be the largest show on the east coast run completely by volunteers. The organization makes donations to local charities such as the Allentown Rescue Mission, Good Shepherd Home, ARC Association, Bethany Children's Home and others. They also sponsor a scholarship program for young men and women pursuing further education in the automotive field.
